Pimentel is a great surfing destination as the weather forecasts are pleasant all year round.The perfect wave conditions attract sport addicts from all over the world!
Be welcome to join a local surfing school, take 2 hours a day hours of classes and enjoy the perfect conditions Peru has to offer for surfing.
The community beach cleaning program includes, but is not limited to, beach clean ups, recycling projects, swim classes for children, creating gardens, painting and English classes.
Participants will spend 2 hrs in the morning and two hours in the afternoons in the community beach cleaning project, then they will have free time in the evenings and weekends, so in your free time you will be able to plan your trips to get to know the surroundings and have fun with other friends!
There are several fascinating archaeological sites that surround Chiclayo which participants can choose to take excursions to during their free time.

Location
Chiclayo, Peru
Our center in Peru is located in the North of Peru, in the main city of Chiclayo. You can easily reach Chiclayo, Peru’s fourth biggest city, by public transport which is cheap and frequent. Chiclayo offers shopping centers, a cinema, a nightlife and from here you can visit the famous museum of the lord of sipan, the tucume pyramids and the dry forest of algarrobos. It is also a traffic hub in north Peru. This makes it easy to travel on the weekends or after your program.
There are plenty of small restaurants or shops around the area. There is an active surfing community and it is easy to make local friends.

Sunday - Arrival
CJA (Mayor General FAP Armando Revoredo Iglesias Airport) Saturday or Sunday : Early in the morning or evening
Our transfer coordinator will meet you at the arrival hall holding a sign with either your name or “The Green Lion”. Please note that in some cases we may need to wait for several participants to arrive before the group leaves the airport.
CIX (Captain Carlos Martinez de Pinillos International Airport) Saturday or Sunday : Pick Up from airport 0:800-10:00 and 18:30-22:00

Food
The food will be typically Peruvian meaning lots of corn, beans, rice, chilli peppers, potatoes, wheat, and other grain, all very vegetarian friendly. Keep in mind that some local dishes may be spicy!
Accommodation
Our accommodation is gender separate rooms, shared homestay style. It is a very typical Chiclayo neighborhood and our local host is keen and motivated offering local family-style interactions and cultural exchanges.
